Our Approach
Our pruning is grounded in traditional Japanese technique, where the work follows established structure and method rather than personal preference alone. Each cut is guided by techniques developed over time and applied in a consistent, repeatable way. At the same time, decisions are made using TPO (time, place, and occasion) to determine what is appropriate for each tree and situation. This approach is supported by experience and by the discipline often described as 葉っぱ一枚の手入れ, care given to each individual leaf. Because we understand traditional Japanese gardens as a whole, we prune each plant according to its role within the space. The goal is not simply shaping trees, but maintaining structure, health, and character in line with the tradition.
